Short webpage here suggesting that a Libra would be a good car for an electric conversion: http://www.kitcarstobuild.com/electric-kit-car/

I'm sure this has come up before but now with more EVs on the road (still quite few) there must be a wider choice for donor parts.

There's been quite a few specialist electric cars over the past few years - there's an electric Sylva Jester which has broken a few records,Ginetta boss Tomlinson has an electric G50,a guy in Australia built an Electric Sylva Mojo here and there's a few electric Porsche replicas here in America. Also look here. A Libra would be a good candidate but I think a K3 or Rossa would be better.

Yes there are plenty of homegrown electric kit car conversions, and production car conversions too.
One guy even did a 2CV.

I think the limiting factors have been battery cost, size and weight. Much time and money has been spent by major vehicle makers recently but the conversions seem to use mostly new or off the shelf parts. I wonder when the first donor conversions or kits will start to appear.

Personally I carnt see the point of an electric libra , just take the teslar for example ok it's quicker than the Elise in a straight line but won't go round corners because of all those batterys .  Also when you have been out for the day you need to book a hotel so you can charge the dam thing back up to get you home.   At the moment petrol is much more user freindly.
