Are we planning to have a club presence at Stoneleigh this year?

http://www.nationalkitcarshow.co.uk/  Sunday 4th - Monday 5th May so not too far off now.

I've sent the paperwork off but that's as far as I've got. Well remembered.

What car are you bringing this year Gareth?

We're planning to go on a camping trip to Scotland straight from the show so I'll be in the ageing Freelander and likely dragging our house for that few weeks behind us.

That does mean I probably can't fetch the marquee this year, but we have a large tent/awning that can accommodate a decent number of people and I'm happy to make that available for the weekend for club use.

No K3 then? What's happening with it lately?

Thanks for the offer of the tent.

K3 has been off the road for a couple of years now, due to lack of time what with buying a house etc.

It's been stored up at my parents during that time, popped up there a few weeks ago and replaced the clutch slave and with that it fired up first time and moved under it's own power.  Now just to sort the stalling/idle issue and replace the lambda and cat to try and cure its emissions issues.

When I rebuilt it I set it up as a trackday car so it's never going to get much road use now but I'm determined to get it out on track at some point this year.  Just need to finish off the new garage first.

It'll be good to meet you James.

Gareth, you got a lot done on it and the Citro├źn in the past so I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it. It can be a real pain not having a garage, speaking from experience.

Am I allowed to park my car on the TGTM pitch?

Hi Roger,

Of course you're welcome, will you be in the Thruxton?

I haven't been on your blog for a while but I see that you we're ready for IVA, how did it go?

I will give it a miss this year...

No more Libra, a Banham Sprint that I am not going to drive for 800 Km on the highway. RCB is not finished yet, still 4 weeks to go...

Maybe next year!

Bye,

Bertram

Not sure if I'll be there both days yet, but I'll be along at some point.

Do I still get tent space as an ex GTM owner?

Still waiting for my Thruxton kit, so completely kitless at the moment.

We'll have a beer for you Bertram!

Paul if you're still a member then you can still pitch up and as far as I know there's only one ex member.

I thought that Rogers was the only Thruxton, well apart from Jim's.
Please start a thread on it when it arrives!
What are you putting in it?

Had the pleasure of watching a triple rotor engine car last night, it was quick (600+ bhp)! Would it fit in the Thruxton though?

Gareth,

do you need the gate pass this year?

Craig,

PM'd you our new address.

Pass would be nice if there is one going, given we're going to bring a BBQ and shelter along even if we can't bring the marquee, genny and heater this year.  I'll also get tea/coffee/milk/sugar etc.

Now to rig up some lighting for the tent, I've got a cunning plan, just need to find time in between work to wire it all up by Saturday morning Wink

I'm going for a TVR V8 same as Jims demonstrator.

Always had a bit of a soft spot for the Healey shape, the noise Jims made at Stoneleigh last year pretty much clinched it for me.

I'll set up a build thread once I'm under way.

10 years.... I remember when all this was fields laugh

Slight mistake there but still technically correct!

Gareth, I've looked through the paperwork and apparently we're allowed two passes but none were actually included so I think you'll have to inquire at the gate

it doesn't mention any discount though so it might not matter after all.

Craig

Not to worry Craig, I'm sure it only saved the driver a tenner, so with 2 of us and camping not worth worrying.

See you at the weekend.  I seem to have failed to get up in time for my train to London this morning, so I'll use my lunchbreak to get some packing done Wink

So bad news chaps...

Unfortunately Tom Ranson can't make it afterall, and he was going to be the lift home for the tent, as I really cant lug 30kg of tent and poles to Scotland and back that I just don't need.

So I'm really looking for a volunteer to take it away and store it after the show on Monday till I can arrange to collect.  All packed up it might just fit on the passenger seat of a Libra but I don't imagine I am going to get any takers there... Anyone going in a tin top?

I'll see if Dudley is going and whether he could store it at Talon for me but if not it might mean we don't have much shelter from the elements this year Sad

Hi,

I'll be in a tin top, but I'll only be there Sunday.

But that would give one night with the shelter.

Also the tent would end up in Portsmouth, not sure how convenient that would be.
