Hi Les,
I'm interested in selling my Libra.
It's a 1.6L k series in yellow.
What do you want to know?
Craig
Hi Craig,
Thanks for letting me know about your car, a few questions to start with:
Did you build it, why are you selling, what age donor vehicle was used, what 'goodies' if any are fitted, and finally are there any 'issues'/problems with the car or has there been in the past?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Les
PS where abouts are you located in the country?
So it's a V reg and I'm the third owner. I'm looking to sell it because I don't have the time I used to have driving and improving the car due to having a new family.
The engine is a 1.6 k series as fitted to MGF and was brand new for the car, rather than being from a donor.
Upgrades from standard are:
Uprated front braking: Big discs, HiSpec 4-pot calipers, green stuff pads
Uprated rear braking: Big discs, MGF callipers and pads
Passat radiator (better cooling and cheap spares)
Front and rear anti roll bars
GTM instrument pod (most have this to be honest)
'TeamGTM' front splitter
Radiator fan controlled by the ECU
Recent changes are:
Replaced old seats for immaculate Subaru seats
Replaced all front lights
Replaced front clam wiring harness and corroded conectors
Replaced rear clam wiring harness and corroded conectors
Replaced handbrake cable
Whole car 'wet and dried' to restore the original colour & gloss
Brand new softer springs all round (I've kept the old ones which you are welcome to but they need blasting and painting or power coating)
Spares in the deal:
Extra 5 wheels for winter to track use
Starter motor
Full set of brand new carpets
Issues:
The dash top has got some discolouration
The front clam has some crazing over the near side wheel arch
The carpets are grubby with a cigarette burn (but new carpets provided, see above)
I'll update this list or reply as I remember more.
I'm based in Loughborough, where are you based?
Craig

Hi Craig,
Apologies for this but how do I post a PM? I cannot find your email anywhere!!
Can you PM me so I can reply or send me a tel. number?
Cheers
Les
Hi Les,
I'll send you a pm which you can reply to, and I'll include my phone number.
I've written a post that shows how to use private messages here: http://www.teamgtm.com/node/15302, so you know how to do it for next time. I'm sure it'll benefit other members too!
Craig
I got out for a spin in the Libra today and took a couple of snaps. Don't be too critical please as it was spur of the moment and I only had my camera phone, and the Libra needs a bath.
Now with another 12 months MOT
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know I have purchased a Libra! It is a one owner vehicle, nicely built with some nice extras fitted. It has the 1.8ltr, 160 bhp engine fitted and seems to run very well. I collect at the end of the month.
Hope to meet some of you at a show or 2 - Stoneleigh/Newark?
Les
Great news Les! I know you'll enjoy it!
What attracted you to that one particularly?
Have you got any changes in mind yet?
Hi Craig,
I was attracted to this car as it was still owned by the builder and I always think they are better treated by the builder than anyone else (Just a personal thought) and was un-molested!
It has many of the features that your Libra has as well as, 4 new 17" wheels and tyres, LED side, indicator and brake lights, rear spoiler, very low mileage and fitted alarm and immobiliser.
I don't have any immediate plans to do anything to it apart from give it a good clean and polish/wax.
Hope to see you in the future
Les
I had a go with the LED lights several years ago, and found they were very dim. How bright are they? I'm sure things have moved along since then.
Yes I hope to be at Stoneleigh and there's always a good turnout from Team GTM and GTMOC, and plenty of temptations on the other pitches. A number of us camp and enjoy polite conversion with a beer or too in the evening.
See you there,
Craig
