Libra Suspension settings
Hi Guys, I need some help if possible
I have misplaced the original build manual for my car (loaned to a friend and it has now vanished)
I need some advise on the suspension settings, tow in/out...ride height etc
The car runs reasonably straight and corners ok but having checked the toe in/outs both front and rear they are all over the shop
Or if someone has a build manual i could copy as a starter?
Many thanks in advance
Brian Bealey
I had a copy on my old website, I'll try and dig it out.

Hi Craig
He found it!
Many thanks

I think the settings in the manual are only a starting point for further tweaking. There has been quite a bit of debate on here and other places regarding what works best, and that will be different depending on what you use it for (road or track) and how much wear you are willing to sacrifice for a particular handling characteristic.
For what its worth, after a bit of experimentation (and with fairly crude metrology - string, plumb stick, tape measure) I settled on Rear - Camber minus 1.5 degrees (=11mm difference in measurement between plumb stick and bottom of rim/top of rim with 16" wheels), Toe in 0.5 degree (=3.5mm difference between parallel string line across rim) Castor is irelavent on the rear. Front - Camber is pretty much zero and I can't be bothered to try to change it given the access to the bolts! I've not checked the castor but the shimming on the wishbones is equal. I've gone for toe in of 0.3 degrees (2mm across rim). I tried 0.5 but it the steering lost a bit of feel. Some people say toe out at the front - tried that and it felt a bit unstable at speed but turns in very well (maybe a good track setting but a but unnerving on the road for me)
Hi Sanzomat
I use the car every day and might trackday it in the future, so your settings look like a good start point
Many thanks
