Hopefully there's still some people lurking on here! Bit gutted to see how quiet the forum has become - Anyway..

Got this a few weeks ago and quite excited to be a Libra owner again, even if there will be a bit of cash and pain before I get to drive it Smile It's Steve Garlands old car, owned by Roger for a while but luckily for me he didn't have time to start it!

It's a factory built 07 Libra with a 1.6 VTEC Honda motor, the running gear needs attention, all 4 corners being refurbed, new bearings joints bushes whatever it needs and everything blasted and done in POR15 including the engine cradle.

Got new protech shocks for it, fitted a Passat rad, wheels want powder coating and by the time I've done any bits of repairs etc and seen to some star crazing it'll need spraying.

Also, as the motor has likely done big miles (62k on car and doner Unknown) I've got an integra type R 1.8 b18c bottom end, throw some new bearings and rings gaskets etc at it, use the 1.6 head which I've found out is the same casting as the type R head, got some type R cams/springs/valves/manifold and tb etc etc.., and I've sent the ecu chipped with the right map (JDM version). Should be good for close to 200hp then with a good 4-2-1 and 2.5 inch system as it would match the JDM spec, and mine obviously has no power steering or AC pumps either which helps.

Got an S80 LSD Box, the desireable 4.7FD version too. Synchros have gone in 3rd, apparently the S4C bits are interchangeable from my box which is supposed to be OK and I've been told while I'm in there if I swap the 4th from the S4C into it too it'll make the ratios closer again. Supposed to be a very good mod and as I've got the two gearboxes I can do it for nothing.

Thankfully, whilst this sounds quite extensive a lot of the work is just hard graft. Car is nice inside and is generally finished off quite well being a factory built.

This is how it's come to me

This is how it looks now crying

Motor and engine cradle off the tub and were about half way through getting the wishbone mounts off. Slow progress on that front and not something I ever want to have to do again. Bought plenty of POR15 base coat and chassis black top coat, should do the job. I may waxoyl over the lower wishbone mounts too when fitted for belt and braces. Won't look pretty but that's not the point.. Can't believe how bad the rear wishbone mounts were, they literally fell apart when removing the lower wishbones.

Managed to get a exige 2.5 inch back box very cheap, going to see if I can make it work, means modding the clam a little for a centre exit but will be good if I can make it work. If not at least it was cheap... I like being different too and not seen one with a centre exhaust before.

Some other bits new protech shocks and refurbed cam cover Smile Also got a aluminium fidanza flywheel, new OEM clutch to go on. Watch this space Smile

Sounds like you got yourself a project!

I hope you don't mind I've put your photos up here, we have enough dead links for images already.

Thanks Craig I tried using IMG tags like I would normally on piston heads etc but it just showed the text no image??

Yep sanzomat - but there's many people I knew on here who don't venture on GTMOC, whether they're still active or not is another thing

There's a thread over here: How to upload images for the forums

Let me know how you get on.

Spent a few hours last night removing the front wishbone and shock mounts, a few more hours tonight and they should all be off ready for blasting and painting over the weekend. Head down by the pedals legs hanging out the door job, feel like I've done some rounds with Mike Tyson.

Still plodding on, haven't bothered updating much as nothing particularly interesting to show yet, I've fitted all the wishbones etc. got my arm stuck in the car whilst doing the rear wishbone mounts :angry2: front end built up new shocks etc..

Just in the process of sorting the engine bits out and hopefully next weekend it'll be going back in. I could quite easily have the thing built as a rolling car this weekend but it'll be much easier to wait until the engine is ready and jack the whole engine/box/cradle assembly up to the back of the car an bolt to the lot to the tub than trying to crane the thing in. That's how I removed it anyway and it was dead easy. So hopefully some more exciting updates in a week or so...!

Built myself a good gearbox out of the S80 LSD integra type R box and S4C 1.6 civic box.

Used the best gears, synchros and hubs out of the two and swapped 4th gear so there will be less of a gap from 3rd - 4th. So I have better ratios the factory LSD and 4.78 FD :) Could have swapped 5th too but don't want it revving any higher than it already will be on the motorway.

Some pics of the car now, just fitted new driveshafts managed to split one of the originals which was a joined shaft one half Honda one half MGF so got some proper one piece shafts made and new CV joints, it's just had a MGTF 2.7 turn rack too.

Not much left on the to do list but I would like to get the car painted as its showing its age a bit with some crazing. Apart from that I've got some different maps to try in the chipped ECU and thinking of getting the throttle body taper bored same as the Spoon ones. Did find a bit of play in the one of the wishbone pillow joints, anyone know what these joints are from? Heard they may be a ford item, I know the bolts are ford.

Just been out for a little test drive and all seems OK. Didn't go far just wanted to have a little run out, spin it up a few times etc then check over on the drive again. Still needs tracking up properly but by some fluke I think I've got it near enough right, seems to track straight enough and the rack has made the steering much quicker with so much more feel, slightly heavier steering being the trade off but completely worth it.

Just need to build my confidence up now with the car and taking it on longer drives
